Dish 2 Inspired by Shinya Shokudo/深夜食堂をヒントに作った料理2

第六巻の第72話の「豚バラトマト巻き」

A reader of my blog said she wanted to make this dish, and I was also interested in it because all my family love tomatoes!
So, I made this dish as part of supper tonight.
このブログの読者がこの料理を作りたいと言い、また家族全員トマトが大好きなので、私もこの料理に興味があるので、
今日の夕飯にこの料理を作りました。
Ingredients:
Cherry tomatoes
Pork belly, thinly sliced
You need bamboo skewers.
材料:
プチトマト
豚バラ薄切り
竹串が必要です。

Cut pork belly slices in half.
Wrap each cherry tomato in a slice.
Thread them on skewers, three on each skewer.
豚バラを半分に切ります。
プチトマトをそれぞれ巻きます。
串に刺します(それぞれ3つづつ)。
And, grill.
I used the toaster oven.
そして焼きます。
私はオーブントースターを使いました。
I grilled them for 8 min. in total.
合計8分焼きました。
If you grill on a grill, you may want to sprinkle salt while grilling. But I prefer not to season while grilling, and I sprinkled some salt after grilling.
網で焼く場合は、焼いている間に塩を振ってもいいでしょうが、私は焼いている間に味付けをしないほうが好きです。焼いた後に塩を少し振りました。


Do I recommend making this dish? No. When I put one piece in my mouth and started to chew, I felt as if the cherry tomato were a small balloon with tomato juice in it, and it was gone immediately. It had little presence! I think that asparagus or something wrapped in pork belly will taste much better.
この料理を作ることを薦めるか?いいえ。一つ口に入れて、噛み始めると、プチトマトはトマトジュースが入った小さな風船のように感じましたが、すぐに消えてしまいました。存在感が殆どありません。アスパラガスなどを豚バラで巻いたほうがずっと美味しいと思います。

  2. Hiroyuki, thank you so much for having prepared and explained this recipe! I am so sorry you didn't like it :-( I feel guilty suggesting this apparently not very palatable dish... On the other hand, on your photos it still looks appetising. Maybe it would have more tomato taste if drained, dried tomatoes were used instead...

  3. Wrap porc around fresh dates filled with cream cheese (or fresh goat cheese) or around finger-bananas and grill.
    Great if you like a mixture of crispy, salty and sweet.

  5. Sissi: Don't feel guilty! (laugh). The thing is that it was tasty enough, but I personally wouldn't recommend making it.
    Aji no hiraki is in the making. Will post about it later.
    As for rice bran pickling, it may take a few days or even a week to post about it. I haven't yet bought rice bran.

    I enjoyed watching the drama. Fu 麩 wheat gluten was erroneously translated into rice bran.

    I'm confused about the way the family made sukiyaki, because they first grilled beef (Kansai style) and then poured warishita (Kanto style).

  8. Sissi: Thanks, I will take my time, or should I say, I have to take my time, becuase the pickling bed will take time to mature.
    That reminds me... I forgot to buy some rice bran today!
