1 Pork and taka-na (a type of greens) ramen and potato bun
2 Mapo nasu (eggplant)
3 Takoyaki (octopus balls) and potato fries
4 Chicken katsu (cutlet) grilled(?) with tomato (sauce?) and (topped with?) cheese
5 Meat and vegetable stir-fry
1豚肉高菜ラーメン じゃがいもパン
2麻婆茄子
3たこ焼き フライドポテト
4チキンカツトマトチーズ焼き
5肉野菜炒め
The chicken katsu looks tasty, but I'd like to have lots of shredded cabbage rather that such a small portion of what looks like some kind of salad.
I wonder what Osaka people would say about the takoyaki because it doesn't look authentic due in part to lack of bonito flakes.
As always, the dishes at your daughter's university look fabulous, if not that very filling!
ReplyDeleteI hope she's enjoying her time at university, and I hope you and your family are doing well after the recent earthquakes.
Amy, thanks for your concern. The earthquake has had no major impact on the area where my house is located, according to my wife.
ReplyDeleteAs for the portions, the small portions don't matter but large portions do.
Japanese foods are really my favorite. Yesterday, me and my husband has been to Shokuji Sushi Restaurant to taste their best selling sushi. Every bite is tasty and feels like japanese. I even saw some japanese sitting there and enjoying the food. Btw, I hope you are all well after Japan's storm and earthquake.

ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment! I hope you learn to enjoy other Japanese foods like tempura, ramen, udon (wheat noodles), and soba (buckwheat noodles)!
Thanks for your concern, I'm not quite sure which storm and earthquake you are referring to, though (laugh). Recently, we have suffered from two typhoons (Nos. 15 and 19) in Japan, but my father and I manage to survive!
