Eating Out on This Special Day/この特別な日に外食

October 1 is the first day of the year on which newly harvested premium Shiozawa Koshihikari rice is released.
10月1日は塩沢の新米コシヒカリが解禁される日です。
I happen to live in the Shiozawa area of Minami Uonuma city, Niigata prefecture. In Japan, Koshihikari rice produced in the Shiozawa and other surrounding areas is regarded as the very best rice.
私は新潟県の南魚沼市の塩沢地域に住んでいます。日本では、塩沢及びその周辺地域で採れるコシヒカリが最上級の米と見なされています。
On this special day, some local restaurants and accommodation facilities start the "Shiozawa Shinmai (New Rice) Campaign", offering genuine Minami Uonuma-produced Koshihikari rice. The campaign lasts until November 3, when the Shiozawa Industrial Fair is held.
この特別な日に、地元の飲食店や宿泊施設が「塩沢新米キャンペーン」を行い、本物の南魚沼産のコシヒカリを提供します。このキャンペーンは塩沢産業祭りが行われる11月3日まで続きます。
On October 1, I went to one of those participating restaurants to have lunch.
