Christmas in Japan/日本のクリスマス

People outside of Japan may not readily believe it, but the Japanese celebrate Christmas, although Christians account for only 1% (according to one survey) to 6% (according to another) of the total population of Japan.
日本に住んでいない人はすぐには信じられないでしょうが、日本人はクリスマスを祝います。キリスト教信者は日本の総人口の1%(ある調査によると)~6%(別の調査によると)ですが。
You may want to know the reason why, but I don't have an immediate answer. Search elsewhere for an answer.

and some chicken nuggets.

In Japan, a Christmas cake looks like this. A sponge cake with whipped cream, topped with strawberries.

My wife and I drank this sparkling wine.

  1. That Jacob's Creek sparkler is our "go to" bubbly when we vacation in Florida. All of the food looks wonderful!

  2. Nancy Heller: What a coincidence! That sparkler was a gift from my wife's sister, who works part-time at a supermarket nearby. She also gave us some ice cream cake, as well as two boots full of snacks for our two children. She had asked us to order a Christmas eve dinner from the supermarket, and we ordered the pizzas, the Christmas cake, and the chicken basket.

  5. Christmas is a joyous time of the year and many people who are non christians also enjoy it. Santa Claus is another symbol of Christmas who is loved by Children especially all over the world. I respect your promptness of replying each comment on your blog and that too in very good English. I and my brother knew Mr. Kojiro Takano who was the Japanese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia who was a very kind person and a master in foreign relations of Japan with other countries.
