Kohaku Daifuku/紅白大福（こうはくだいふく）

Kohaku means red and white. In Japan, kohaku suggests an auspicious occasion. Today, a graduation ceremony was held at my daughter's elementary school, and after the ceremory, every pupil got a pair of kohaku daifuku. My daughter gave the white one to his brother.
紅白とは赤と白という意味です。日本では、紅白は、おめでたいことを暗示します。今日は、娘の小学校で卒業式があり、式に後に、生徒はみな、紅白大福をもらいました。娘は、白い大福をお兄ちゃんにあげました。
