Newly Harvested Onions (Shin Tamanegi)/

It's time for shin tamanegi (newly harvested onions). They are tender and sweet, and I love them.

They are good in miso soup,

with a generous amount of mayonnaise.
The potato salad turned rather watery due to the newly harvested onion. It tasted good, though.
I also made curry, using two newly harvested onions, among others.
We had it for lunch today. I transferred the leftovers in a smaller pot so that I could put it in the fridge after it cooled down. Clostridium perfringens is the major cause of food poisoning from curry left overnight.
And, for supper today, I made Napolitan spaghetti.
Generous amount of tomato ketchup, naturally.

I really want to add green peppers...

That looks yummy. I have some fresh Shallots growing a grow bag. Can I replace the Onions with the Shallots ?

seeandoh: Sorry, no idea! Why not just use shallots instead if you like them?

Juan,
Well, any newly harvested onions are shin tamanegi.
