Snowfall in the Kanto Area in November/11

Today (November 24), something very unusual has happened: Snowfall in the Kanto area in November!

At around 7 o'clock in the morning:
午前7時頃:
In Kimitsu city, Chiba prefecture, adjacent to Tokyo, 56 people say that it's snowing.
In Toshima ward in Tokyo, where my son lives, 153 people say that it's snowing.
I've been staying at my parents' house located in Kimitsu city for weeks now. I've never expected to see snow here!

The roof connecting the annex to the main house:
離れと母屋を繋ぐ屋根:
I was worried that the roof might collapse due to the snow.

Just a 2 or 3 cm (about an inch) snowfall... It would be nothing in snowy regions in Japan like mine.

This morning (Nov. 25):
Sunny! But very cold!

I hope the sun melts this snow on the roof soon enough!

Snowy grapefruit trees - never seen those. Strange, we had some heavy snowfall just two weeks ago. Never happened before at this time of the year during my lifetime. It was so much snow I lost some trees: one big cypress tree broke midway in two halves and one Clerodendrum, who was still blossoming, broke in two parts (left part still strong) too. So sad. The traffic was a huge mess. Just a few days before snowfall we enjoyed lovely 20 C degrees. The trees had still fully green leaves and the autumn color change did not happen yet. Now the color change moved quickly on. I picked Kiwi fruits in the snow (8 kg by the way) and cooked lots of delicious jam.
We were joking about a really green christmas. Now temperatures dropped a bit so the mulled wine at christmas market will be really tasty again, but I guess we will have christmas at 10-15 degree Celsius. Climate change...

Kiki: Sorry to hear about the losses. After coming from the field, my father talked about the damage caused, broken branches, fallen fruit, etc. I was relieved to hear that the strawberry greenhouse was not damaged!

The photos of the snow were nice. Good that your Strawberries were spared.

seeandoh: Yes, yes! Otherwise, we would have had to construst the house once again!
