Sashimi Konnyaku/さしみこんにゃく

I bought a pack of sashimi konnyaku yesterday.
昨日はさしみこんにゃくを1袋買いました。

Sashimi konnyaku often comes with a small packet of su miso (vinegar and miso) sauce, but this particular economy sized pack didn't.
さしみこんにゃくには、酢味噌が付いてくる場合が多いですが、この徳用サイズには付いていませんでした。

So, I combined one part each of miso, vinegar, and sugar to make su miso, and one part each of soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar to make su joyu (< shoyu).
というわけで、味噌、お酢、砂糖を1,1,1の割合で混ぜて酢味噌を作り、醤油、お酢、砂糖を1,1,1の割合で混ぜて、酢醤油(すじょうゆ)を作りました。
Refreshing, perfect for a hot summer day.
さっぱりしていて、暑い夏の日にはぴったりです。

This I'm sure I'll never find here! Unusual. I wonder if it still has the fishy smell...

Sissi: Sorry to hear that, but are you really sure?
Sashimi konnyaku is less smelly than regular konnyaku because it is (probably) made with refined konnyaku powder and because of the addition of seaweed and other ingredients.

Haha! Today I went to my Japanese grocery shop and they sell it! (A different brand though). It seems I don't visit my shop often enough (and don't look at the products' range...).
THank you for the answer. I didn't buy it today (I already bought several other packages of konnyaku products: the "block", the balls, the noodles..., but I'll test it next time.

After my holiday in france, I am planning to visit the japanese shopping district in Duesseldorf. Hopefully I will find some konnyaku products too.

Kiki: I hope you find some nice products there. Just buy as many of them as you want because konnyaku and its products can keep long at room temperature.
