Second Attempt to Make Ume Syrup in a Rice Cooker/

I made another attempt to make ume syrup in a rice cooker. This time, I reduced the heating time from 8 to 4 hours.
625 g of ume
300 g of sugar

4 hours later.
A considerable amount of sugar remained undissolved at the bottom of the inner pot of the rice cooker.
I transferred the contents of the inner pot to a Tupperware container.
I hope the shorter heating time results in better-tasting, clear ume syrup.
To be continued.

On the early morning of June 29:
I stirred gently to dissolve the sugar at the bottom, taking care not to damage the ume.
On the evening of the same day:
 I got 475 g of clear syrup and 375 g of ume.
Comparison:
比較:
Right: Syrup made by heating ume for 8 hours in a rice cooker
Left: Syrup made by heating ume for 4 hours in the same rice cooker

I tasted them both and found no noticeable difference in flavor. Both were quite flavorful. The difference in clarity is obvious.

Note: the PET bottle on the right had been put in the fridge before the photo was taken, whereas the one on the left was at room temperature.

Conclusion: I prefer the syrup made by heating for 4 hours.

In my view, based from your recent trials,
seems the freezer method is the safest (or I can say 'the best'?
with no change in taste/texture), yet quicker than usual (room temperature) method. Right?

fiasseP: Well, my first experiment is not completed yet. I will talk about the conclusions in two or three days.
