Sayama Matcha An Daifuku/狭山抹茶あん大福

My wife got a bag of six daifuku from her sister, who went to Mt. Takao in Tokyo.
The product name is Sayama Matcha An Daifuku. Sayama is the name of the city in Saitama prefecture that is famous for its green tea (Sayama Cha).
妻は、東京の高尾山に行った姉から、6個入りの大福を一袋もらいました。
製品名は、狭山抹茶あん大福です。
狭山とは、お茶(狭山茶)で有名な、埼玉県にある市の名前です。

So were they yummy?

Jan: Yes, they were! The same old flavor, but I liked them. But I have to say that a matcha-flavored sweet and a cup of green tea are not a very good combination. Maybe I should have had them with coffee or something (laugh).

Last picture is very mouthwatering!
Why didn’t you like it with green tea? Too much green tea flavor?
I like it with genmaicha, maybe you like to try...

In your daifuku is some matcha in mochi-dough too, right?

Amato: Yes, too much of a good thing.
As I mentioned somewher in my blog, I do like green tea, and I drink more than two liters of it every day!

Genmaicha? But it's still green tea. Maybe hojicha (roasted green tea) is better.

I have just come up with a better option: Cocoa! With little or no sugar!

Matcha in the dough? Probably, but I'm not 100% sure, because the ingredient lable include gardenia pigment (クチナシ色素).
