Ooh, this looks delicious! What a wonderful dinner
- my kids love カキフライ! Your family is very lucky that you're a good cook.

Yangsze: In my family, my wife is the only one who loves oyster fries. My daughter had only two. She said that the tartar sauce was good. The remaining nine fries were consumed by my wife. My son was not able to have any (he has been suffering from gastritis for a week).

Deep-fried oysters and sauce tartar, heavenly. I am on a diet right now (sigh).

Kiki: On a diet again? I've been on a diet for more than a year myself. That being said, now I regularly have alcohol at suppertime.

Yes on diet. I must get rid of the insulation (winter is almost over). I made sauce tartar last weekend together with cornmeal breaded fried catfish. But I did add a lot of yoghurt to the mayonnaise and I ate only a little of the fish and more of the vegetable side dish. Did you add pickles to the sauce tartar I wonder? Therefor I always add finely chopped gerkins and capers.

Nippon Nin: 娘がタルタルソースが大好きで、エビフライを作る時は、よく作ってます。冬はきゅうりが高くて、玉ねぎだけですが、娘は美味しいって言ってます。

Kiki: That particular tartar sauce is a combination of mayo (Kewpie!), boiled eggs, and chopped onion. I can add cucumbers and parsley when they are available. (In the wintertime, cucumbers can be very expensive, 50-60 yen each, and the parsley plant is buried in snow). My wife likes to add some yogurt, but I really don't care for watery tartar sauce...
