Gyunyu Kan/

I made gyunyu kan today. Gyunyu kan is short for gyunyu kanten. Gyunyu = Milk, and kanten = Agar-agar.
I used a stick of kanten, which is good for 500-600 ml of water.
Ingredients:
1 stick kanten
200 ml water
300 ml milk
60 g sugar
(I reduced it to 40 g, because I like everything on the less sweet side.)
Canned mikan
Recipe:
1. Reconstitute kanten by soaking it in a bowl of cold water for several minutes.
2. Squeeze, tear into small pieces, and put them in a pot.
3. Add water and bring to a boil.
4. Keep stirring on low heat until the kanten is completely dissolved.
5. Heat milk in another pot or in a microwave.
6. Add hot milk and sugar. Keep stirring on low heat until the sugar is completely dissolved.
7. Transfer into individual cups or a big container. Let cool.
8. Serve with mikan.

The resulting gyunyu kan was much less sweet than I had expected. 60 g of sugar should be fine.
