Uh, I could kill someone right now for vermicelli bean salad and fried oysters (had one joghurt and honeydewmelon for lunch. Still a few hours left before turning home).
Would be a nice meme to cook all these dishes.

I will start writing comments on the TV drama version of Shinya Shokudo, on an episode-by-episode basis.
Hiroyuki: It is not that easy. I don't know which type of vermicelli salad you would recommend, but I like this salad with cucumber- and carrot matchsticks, green chillies and cilandro. Kiki: Coincidentally, we have problems with yukhoe here in Japan:
"Japan 2011 Incident
In April and May 2011, 4 people died and more than 35 people hospitalised after eating Yukhoe[9] in various branches of a yakiniku restaurant chain in Toyama and Kanagawa prefectures, Japan with Enterohemorrhagic E. coli bacteria found in many of the cases.[10][11][12]"

I read about the yakiniku restaurant chain outbreak. Beef mince is always risky. They didn't follow the rules to prevent the bacterial contamination of the mince.
Here in Germany it is somehow hopeless. They are not able to detect the source of evil. It has to be a very common product, sold in many shops. My kitchen turns more and more into a lab (biohazard-risk area).
Kiki: I really don't care much for yukhoe, and I didn't know that just so many Japanese liked yukhoe until I heard news stories about the incident.
It's surprising that in this country, where people like to have sashimi, there are no national guidelines for handling raw meat.
I have just looked at the wikipedia link! So yukhoe is what we call here steak tartare! I must admit when I go to France this is my favourite beef dish... I only take it in good restaurants I know quite well because of the hygiene, the meat quality and of course the seasoning (some restaurants do it perfectly well-always pickled cucumbers, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and egg yolk, sometimes onion). In France this is served in most restaurants and whenever I go to Paris I have it as often as I can (I think I lack iron)... I have never heard of people getting ill because of raw beef in France, but on the other hand someone has recently died after a hamburger in a fast food chain... This only means if the beef is good quality and handled respecting the hygiene rules, it is not dangerous.
Sissi: This particular yakiniku restaurant chain, Ebisu, failed to take the necessary hygiene steps in order to offer yukhoe and other meat dishes at very cheap prices. That's the main reason why this tragic incident happened.
It's always the hygiene issue, I know... Now the thing happening in Germany is really scary. So many people died and so many in the hospital and now they suspect an organic farm! I am scared to think no vegetable is safe, even organic. The worst thing is I don't remember such a number of people die because of meat, which usually seems more dangerous than vegetables.
