Chahan (Fried Rice) with Dried Enoki/

The other day, I made chahan (fried rice), with leftover germinated brown rice, two eggs, and some dried enoki roots.

One big advantage of using germinated brown rice (or brown rice) to make chahan is that you don't have to separate it into individual grains; it will separate into individual grains by itself.

I microwaved the germinated brown rice until very hot.

I then microwaved the dried enoki roots for a total of 20 + 10 = 30 seconds until they gave off their distinctive dried-squid-like aroma.
I added only a 1/4 teaspoonful of instant dashi for seasoning.
I made the chahan as an okazu (accompaniment) to rice, and shared it with my family (that is, my wife and daughter).

When lightly seasoned, the aroma and flavor of the dried enoki stand out, which is very good.

The next day, I had the leftover chahan with some meat sauce on top.

This sounds so easy but very delicious and aromatic with dried enoki.
Your family is blessed to have a chef like you. I am hopeless in the kitchen. LOL

The total dish will taste good I guess. Especially with the meat sauce. Here we eat rice with some 2-3 dishes to accompany it. But on special occasions, Rice is accompanied by as much as 150 items and is served on a banana leaf.

seeandoh: 2-3 dishes! That's quite similar to the basic principle of Japanese cuisine: ichi-ju san-sai, one soup and three dishes.

Japanese Cuisine is simple and nutritious. We have Japanese restaurants here in India in the big cities only. I like Japanese cuisine; but I never had a chance to eat it.
