As Requested by My Daughter/

I made hiyachi chuka for supper tonight. The tofu on the left and the cucumber on the right were sake no sakana (appetizers for alcohol) for me. I had the tofu with soy sauce and grated ginger and the cucumber with miso (my father's temae miso).
I asked each diner to assemble the ingredients to make their hiyashi chuka. The one in the photo below is my daughter's.
Sorry for showing our mediocre hiyashi chuka, but it was good enough for us. Both my children said the kinshi tamago (shredded egg crepes) was very good.

Note: My kinshi tamago does not contain starch or salt.  It is made from eggs only.

Soumen is my favorite for cold noodle!
But unfortunately, I never tried "nagare soumen" yet... The serving style just unique!!

fred: As I said somewhere, soumen (also spelled somen) is a favorite of my family, but I am a hiyamugi guy!

And, I don't want to have nagare (or nagashi) somen because of concerns about hygiene!

I should not eat them then!(笑)
