I went to "Aoi Zushi" in Tokamachi to have sushi. I ordered this special menu for Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale.
寿司を食べに、十日町にある「葵寿司」に行きました。大地の芸術祭の特別メニューを頼みました。
I took this photo at a rare moment when the two chefs (father and son) left the kitchen.
This traditional sushi shop opens at 11:30, and I went there a few minutes after it opened. Before noon, all the counter seats were taken, and so were all seats in the zashiki (straw mat room).

I love the tea ceremony house the best. I think it's an interesting way to enter the house by crawling through that small door. Kind of reminds me of "Alice in the wonderland". The inside interior is great too! :D
And what is that pink looking rice? Sakura rice? Never seen that before in any of the Japanese restaurant available here...(#^.^#)
Hiroyuki, I think I like today's art items the best out of all the ones you have shared with us since the exhibitions started. The Mudmen reminds me of some things from when I was a little boy, a playground where I used to spend my afternoons looked much like that sculpture.

The pinkish item is negi toro don.
Negi = Japanese scallion
Toro = Fatty tuna
Don = Short for donburi
Ah! Negi toro don! Thanks for the explanation. Will try that if I happen to see one. :)
